Battlefield District Standings - who will win district?

So how does this all work out if the rain makes it so not all the games get played, would they postpone the tourney?

Also do you think the battlefield would ever allow top6 into tourney instead of top 4? just a thought.

After speaking with the Athletic Director at Chancellor, he mentioned there is a possibility Chancellor could be playing on Saturday and the District Tournament getting moved up. District semi-finals would start on Wednesday and the championship on Friday. Last night's Chancellor home game against Caroline was played at Courtland, but unfortunately the rain stopped the game with Chancellor winning 1-0 after the 1st inning. With the weather forecast for the reamainder of the week been scattered thunderstorms it look like the two remaining home games for Chancellor will be played at Courtland. Chancellor's outfield is just one big swamp.

I think having the top 6 teams participate in the district tourney would be a great idea, not to sure who makes the decision. Is it something the coaches would all have to vote on in agreement.

By the way 'Zeus' big win for you guys last night against King George, especially with Damion pitching against you. I hope we get to play you guys again in the Distrcit playoffs.

So if Chancellor, Courtland, and Eastern View all finish 10-4,and King George and Caroline finish at 9-5.... How is the seeding worked out with the top 3 and who is the odd man out between the lower 2.

Yeah the guys played well last night and executed in almost all phases and Tanner May threw a good game. As far as seeding, it is all to much in the air to guess seeding, but i heard a rumor that if that does happen 1 game playoff between KG and Caroline. But you know how rumors are.

My understanding is the seeding for the top three would be by head-to-head first, then the preseason draw. As far as KG and Caroline, it would be a play-in game to determine the #4 seed.

One more note - JM (H) vs KG has been moved to Wednesday due to lack of umps.

Lack of umps? REALLY!!! WOW... i mean i can see the rain knocking everyone out till the end of the week, but i would have to say that is a first that i have heard that.

I guess if they really had to, they could forgo the district tournament and just send the top 2 teams to regionals, but I believe they will make every effort to get the district tournament in.

Update: James Monroe(H) vs KG now moved to Friday due to poor field conditions.

With Caroline winning yesterday the final 4 teams have been decided for the district tournament. If Chancellor wins their last two games then there will be a one game playoff to decide the seedings for the tournament.

I think the playoffs are going to be a real toss up, with any team that could possibly beat any team. All teams this year have had a dr. Jekyll/mr. hyde approach where one day they are very good and the next well you know what i am talking about. Should make for good entertainment.

Today's Chancellor vs Carolne 7:00PM game has been moved to Spotsy High School

Assuming Chancellor wins its final two games with Caroline and Spotsy, who will be the #1 seed? Courtland is 11-3 and if Chancellor wins tonight and tomorrow, they'll also be 11-3. And both split with each other during the season.

Would that be Courtland and Chancellor or KG and Caroline? Assuming Caroline loses to Chancellor and KG defeats JM tonight, that leaves KG and Caroline with identical 9-5 records and they split during the season.

You would have 3 teams with 9-5 records. When there are more than two teams tied they do the overall head to head record for the 3 teams tied. This what they did last year when we had 4 teams tied with 8-6 and Spotsy was eliminated because the other 3 teams all split with each other, but Spotsy lost two games to one of the 4 teams.

Wins: Eastern View, Eastern View, King George
Losses: King George
Head-to-Head Record: 3-1

Eastern View 9-5
Wins: King George, King George
Losses: Caroline, Caroline
Head-to-Head Record: 2-2

King George 9-5

If Chancellor and Courtland tie with 11-3 records they would be co-district champions. Then on Monday they would play one game to see who would be the one seed.

Today Chancellor vs Spotsy 10AM been played at Courtland H.S.

Chancellor beat Spotsy 5-3 to be Co-District Champions with Courtland. They will play Courtland at Spotsy H.S. Monday 5PM. The winner will be the one seed in the district tournament and get a bye into the regionals.

If you are calling them co champions, why would you
need a district tournament. The playoff game would be for region seedings. Otherwise the playoff game would be for 1st place in the district would it not?

They are co-champions because they finished with identical records and split with each other during the season. The "playoff" game is needed to determine the #1 seed for the district tournament since the #1 seed automatically qualifies for the regionals. You still have to play the district tournament to determine the other team our district can send to the regionals.

Actually I think this playoff game determines the district champs. Which makes more since Same thing happened in the commonwealth district this year.

I spoke to the Athletic Director at Chancellor and he said they are co-champions. Monday's game decides who is the number one seed in the Batllefield District Tournament. Plus the winner of Monday's game gets an automatic bid to the regionals and the other three teams are competing for the second spot in the regionals.

seems to be some conflicting info out there. The paper stated it was to determine the district title and so have some others. Anyway it should be a good game and best of luck to both teams.
