Tigers are being run by the same people. It just fall baseball.

As for players they always think the grass is greener on the other side

LI TITANS
BAYSIDE
LI TIGERS
NY CARDINALS

These are the premier teams.
TRHIT my sons team played you in the Mosic Mets tournament in 2005.

I am partial to Tigers The management knows the game and cares for the kids this can help.

And the competition is good

When it comes BSY after 16u the kids are recruited from all over the country they do not really take the kids who have been with them not a lot of loyalty. The choice is yours
IMO...

Bayside Yankees amass a great deal of talent and without question, play the best schedule of any team in the area. Negatives are prohibitive costs, they are not loyal at all to their own players (dispose of players without a thought), and they are blackballed from ALL PG events.

The Tigers treat their players and families with respect and keep the cost down as it is not a "for-profit" organization. Their talent has slipped considerably to say the least in last few years. The coaches of the senior team are excellent teachers and treat their players with respect.

LI Cardinals have slipped a bit as well. It hurt when they lost Ian Millman who no3w runs the New York Nine.

LI Titans are having plenty of problems with unhappy players and parents. The coaches are young and their conduct is questionable at best. The cost is spiraling out of control (for profit)and they recently were blocked out of the WWBA Northeast Qualifier for Jupiter event.

SInmce you are in CT, I suggest you look into the World Yacht Clippers out of Brewster, NY. The players there could not be in better hands, with good baseball men and very knowledgable of this amateur circuit.

Best of luck to you and your son!
Coach Wykoff,

Please allow me to start this reply by saying that I do not wish to get into an ongoing war of words with you or anybody else on this board. Trust me when I say that I possess an intimate knowledge of the Titan organization and their dealings. having said that, I would like to ask you to re-read my original post. I did not make mention of "exposure" or college recruitment" in any of my opinions regarding those organizations. Please also note that any names I mentioned were named in a positive light. I saw no reason to identify people by name if there was nothing positive to say about them. After all, the intent here was to provide an opinion for "mmac" who is attempting t make an informed decision with his son. I am sure youwould agree that each player has a short window of opportunity and "wasting" a year in an organization that is a poor fit for that player can be very damaging to said player's opportunities and/or experience. I feel the players and their repective families are the most important people on this board, not us. Again, I only wish to help in some small way.

As to your reply/questions, I agree that the head of that organization does maintain ongoing dialogues with a handful of northeast coaches, but that should be expected given his capacity as owner of a prospect showcase business. What I mean is that all of the players are directed/influenced to attend at least several showcase events during their time in the organization. Thus lines the pockets of whom? Don't get me wrong, the showcases are well run and the Long Island event is very well attended by coaches. My contention is that other organizations take the time and effort without the compensation.
As per the cost, it is also my contention that summer/fall baseball need not be run as a "for-profit" business. I am sure you know first-hand just how expensive this juncture of a ballplayer's career can be. DO we really need to add to it to supplement an alresady questionable practice of steering players into shocases they may not need to be in while keeping them away from PG events (both team and individual) that we know are top-notch. Would prefer that decisions were made on player's behalf, with potential financial gains cast aside.
N.B. Be advised that the vast majority of players that moved onto their chosen colleges, did so without any assistance from the afore-mentioned person. Not an indictment, simply fact.
As per the coaches' questionable behavior. I will refer to my earlier comment and not go into any detail here. Nobody benefits from that. If you would like to send me a private message and have a cordial conversation to quell your thirst for details on this matter , you certainly may.
Finally, allow me to provide a list of players off the top of my head that have left that organization in the last 6 months or so. Surely, something is amiss if so many marquee players opt out for reasons other than playing time which is not the issue here.

Nick Thode (Bayside Yankees)
Max Catapano (Bayside Yankees)
Brian Kemp (Bayside Yankees)
Matt Petiton (Bayside Yankees)
John Mincone
Greg Smith
Tom Meaney
Tom Carberry

I went on far longer than intended here. It is still NOT A BAD place for any Long Island player to play by any stretch of the imagination. I just seems to be headed in wrong direction and recent ban on allowing players to participate in occasional PG events is ludicrous response to them being omitted from recent Northeast Qualifier. Wouldn't you like your son to have the opportunity to attend such a well respected event?

Be well
Hello itsinthegame,

Yes, we did create many wonderful memories back then with the Tigers. It is a critical time for that organization right now. Don and Sue cannot find someone to their liking to take over the organization as they hope to give it up on August 1st. Are you heading down to Ft. Myer's or Jupiter? It would be great to meet up. What is Darin up to? Say hello to your wonderful wife for me.

Ray
the world yacht clippers have a lot of talented players and joe is a very respected coach.

another NY team sprouted up from the western side of the state, the East Coast Grays -- they finished 3rd in the NE qualifier in long island.. and their 16u team finished 7th at the Underclass World Championships in Ft Myers (having beat the all american prospects and east cobb astros).... most of their kids are from rochester/buffalo but they also have kids from CT,VA,MD,NC, and FL
