Ah, HC, but you're probably referring to actual baseball fans, not sportswriters (ever notice thay're not called sportsunderstanders? Wink) and media types.

CD, ya'll must be shocked to learn that the Indians are not playing great baseball. I suppose all that hitting with RISP and tasty pitching (sorry, CC, but you get another chance Wink) confused you.

Heaven knows NOBODY cares unless the Red Sox or Yankees are involved (pesky old NL, always insisting to have a team in the WS).

Orlando - I agree. It used to bother me that nobody cared but now I don't care. I don't care if 3 people watch the Rockies and the Indians on TV. I have watched the WS and playoffs for years and my team is almost never in it. Now, all I care is that I get to watch it. If anyone else watches it so be it - otherwise I just don't care.
Me, too. It's a long old winter without baseball --- I'm sure not going to give up on it early.

And the Nobody Cares is ESPN horsepatootie; just nobody THEY know cares!

This postseason has some great young player stories --- I'd love to see an Indians-Rockies matchup for that reason. Should be some great play.

And it wouldn't bother me in the least not to see any more of Manny's 'we're 4 runs down and I've just hit a basically meaningless home run' celebrations. Roll Eyes

Could not agree more - what was that all about other than "celebrating the greatness that is Manny" Roll Eyes

I hope Cleveland closes the deal in the next game - I look forward to a series without a "big" market team - just two very good ones!!!

If I was less than graceful, I would say the Indians took advantage of crummy pitching....three games in a row. The Indians are hot. The Red Sox are stone cold. Hot teams advance...but I would be remiss not to remind of recent history, specifically 2004 ALCS when the Red Sox completed the impossible.

I'd like to defend Manny's mega-pimping of home runs. I just don't know how.

No need to be graceful. The red hot Red Sox (swept the Angels) took advantage of the Indians crummy pitching for almost two complete games. The difference between the two teams is in the bull pens - the Indians thus far has been better and that has transcended who is hot and who is not.

Better: Statisically superior over a long period of time, a less limited sample.

Hotter: Statistically superior over a shorter period of time, a more limited sample. My definitions.

The Indians are more than worthy of playing in the World Series and may be the better team. I thought the Yankees Michael Kaye was exceedingly arrogant everytime he declared that "Sometimes the better team (The Yankees) just doesn't win." Give me a break.

The Indians may be better and are certainly hotter.
