Cox 7 Tallwood 6

Taylor Mahaily, after a shaky start (2 runs in the first), pitched 5 strong innings to pick up his 1st win. Tallwood plated 4 runs in the top of the 7th to make things interesting and turned at least 4 double plays to keep the Falcon bats at bay.

Princess Anne 16, Green Run 1. PA 5 in the first. 9 in the second inning. Two more runs somewhere else. Dylan Husdon faced 6 batters in two inning and went 2 for 2. Dave Morgan pitched two innings and Leo Nieto pitched the last inning.

Let me say something about Green Run's team. THEY DON'T QUIT! They run off the field, talk in the dug out and they run to their positions as if they are one run up. They do that throughout the game. My hats off to them and their coach, Dave Abbot. All our teams could take a lesson from them.
Cox 5 FC 2

Good game for both sides and a great pitchers' duel between Reid Killen and Andy Berry. I believe both teams played error-free. FC struck first with a solo HR by Max Fischetti. Cox knotted the score at 1 behind a single by Kyle Profilet followed by an infield single by Drew Wilkinson and an RBI FC by Greg Amorosso. FC broke out on top again 2-1 and carried that lead to the 7th. Drew Wilkinson led the charge back with another infield single to lead off the 7th. Greg Amorosso followed with a line drive single into LC. Kyle McBride then knotted the score at 2 with a line drive slash single to RC and Austin Erb then came up big with a double to deep center to put Cox up by two. Reid Killen then helped his cause with Cox's 5th straight hit of the inning to plate the 5th run and close out the scoring. Well played game by both sides.
