Beach District

Kellam has many players coming back being a younger team last year, and has gained some players that were unable to play last year
I think Kellam is going to be hard to beat this year.

Ocean Lakes lost major players as well, so i dont expect their record from last year to improve, but still a threat to all teams

First Colonial lost Costen (SS) and some other senior pitchers, they will be an upset threat.

Princess Anne, lost alot of talent but still has young ball players rising. Has to potential to be a good team this year

Middle of the pack teams, Bayside, Salem, Kempsville, and Green Run all have good ball players but dont expect better records than last year

i know its fallball but oscar smith played at salem saturday and tied them at 6-6!

Have to think Kellam is the front runner. They made it to the second round of regionals, return almost their whole team and pick up Nick Walker who transferred from Great Bridge.

FC and OL will probably stey with them every step of the way but graduation took a bite from both.

While Nick is a good player, I think the return of Turner Bishop is more important to Kellam. Another quality LHP and middle of the lineup bat.

so do u think va beach will have 3 or 4 teams ranked in the top 10 of the va pilot at the beginning?

No mention of Cox ? They will be more than competitive this spring ! This should be Salem's year to be a contender as well !!

Was told that OL beat Cox on Friday. We all know that fallball is not an exact showing for the spring, but I was under the impression that OL lost many players.
Looking forward to seeing Walker play in the spring, but what position???????

Look out for Landstown this year. Nick Faison and Will Hinton will be key to them having a good season.

I believe Cox was missing some of their key players during scrimmage with OL? OL will be very young with only a few coming back with any varsity experience.

if not go to va beach public schools then go to athletic/academic schedules and then under high school sports there is game/team schedules click on that and then click on a school and then it has baseball varisty under the sports click on that and then hit view!

I was informed recently that Clay Frizzell is making a comeback for FC in the spring ! If so ? That's BIG news for the Patriots and the rest of the District. Clay is a potential game changer every time he toes the rubber !!

Not trying to be too clever. Lot's of talent and if he's got it working he can be very good. In the movie Susan Sarandan has Nuke LaLoosh breathing through his lizard eyes (think Fernando Valenzuela) to help him relax and pitch better.

Yes, I get the reference but don't understand the joke. I've coached against Clay since he was 9 and he has been as talented as anyone since I have known him.

My kid played with him. When he was relaxed, focused and on his game he was terrific and that was what I was trying to get at. I think other things interested him rather than playing just baseball so he kind of came and went after awhile.
