FC 21 vs. Cox 4
-Andy Berry got the win (7-0)
-Frank Berry 2 grand slams all in the 2nd inning
-Cox's Greg Amorosso got the loss
HR's by FC:Trevor Lett(1),Myles Shipp(2),John
Kirby(3),Tyler Harris(1),2 Frank Berry(2 or 3?)

Cox went up 4-0 in the bottom of the 1st, but FC came back in the top of the second posting up
14 runs.First Colonial never looked back from that point on.This game ended in 5 due to the ten run rule.
Fromthe757:yes it was a little crazy.

i believe it all started when Cox scored their runs in the first inning they celebrated at home play and then when FC celebrated at home after they scored their first couple the got a little over excited. And then as soon as FC started overpowering Cox at the plate the one pitcher for Cox got testy and was believed to have purposely pegged the pitcher for FC directly at his throwing arm elbow...no retaliation came from FC.Later on in the game FC hit back-to-back jacks and the next batter was plunked. No ejection was made after that incident but the pitcher was ejected in the first incident.

I've heard this isn't the first incident. I heard a kid from Salem got drilled after a home run against Cox and that the Taylor kid at Kellam got hit after he hit one out. Is this true? If it is, maybe more ejections are what needs to be happening. That might keep them from hurting somebody.

And I've heard that fromthe757 just registered for this site so he could attempt to stir up trouble. I was at the FC-Cox game and, quite frankly, have no idea whether or not the hit batter was intentional...and neither does anyone else except the guy that threw the pitch (and of course the umpire that apparently can determine intent from a single incident). Give it a rest and let the kids play ball there is no pattern here, otherwise, if what you say is true, Frank would've been the one hit...along with the other 4 guys that hit HR's. Why don't you stick to commenting on games that you actually attended rather than spreading baseless rumors? You were not there correct?
What does it matter when I registered? No, I wasn't there, that's why I asked about it. Just worried about the kids. So is the rest of what I heard not true? Did a batter get hit after a home run against Salem? Did the Taylor kid get hit the at bat after he hit a home run? Simply curious. Didn't know I couldn't ask questions here. Any other rules I should know about? If it is true, though, it sounds like the umpire did the right thing. He's probably got more experience then you or I in this situation anyway.
"When" you registered was never in question. "Why" you registered is. What? You don't like it when someone infers a motivation for YOUR actions? Think about what you've done and maybe you'll get my point. Although I was there, I have no clue about the Salem game. If it did happen, it certainly wasn't an incident that was talked about. A HBP is a fairly common occurence in baseball. Yes, Jason did get hit at the Kellam game, but I couldn't tell you whether or not it was following his HR and I certainly did not view it as intentional. I only recall it because I know Jason well and am good friends with his Dad.
You got me! I'm not being secretive. I registered because I heard the game at Cox was interesting. I wanted to know what happened. That's all. Then I found out the other stuff. Again, just curious. Guess that's fiendish. Just because something wasn't talked about by you doesn't mean it wasn't talked about. If I heard it, it obviously was talked about. I'm not trying to stir things up here. Just made a suggestion that it might need to be nipped in the bud. That's all.
fromthe757, No it's not true, I don't believe Salem hit a home run in the game. Taylor got hit with a breaking ball that didn't break. In the FC and Kellam game Cox pitchers were having problems throwing strikes. Remember these are HS kids and rarely is there control pin point and when you have pitchers throwing inside batters are going to get hit. In over 20 years of being around local HS baseball I've never saw anyone get thrown out for hitting someone, the umpire was way out of line. Even if he suspected the pitcher was throwing at the batter he should have given a warning before ejecting the kid. You don't know these kids so why don't you keep comments like you made to yourself. YOU WIN THIS WEEKS JUST SHUT UP AWARD!!!!
In The Game...I guess no one can question YOUR motivations for that classy post. So the Cox pitcher was "hitting his spots all day"? I believe he came on in relief in the second inning and got one out before he was ejected...I believe you and I have vastly different views on what constitutes a pitcher "hitting his spots all day". FYI, pitchers that can hit their spots (especially one that can intentionally hit a batter's elbow from 90') do NOT get hit like FC was hitting the ball that day. As an FC grad myself, I certainly don't feel very good about a "fan" like you supporting my alma mater. I wonder how the real FC fans (and players) feel about that kind of "support"?
In The Game: Get your facts correct, the Cox pitcher came in with no outs in the second inning and faced five batters before he hit the sixth. Let's think a little, I know that's asking quite a bit from you but I think you can figure this one out. If the Cox pitcher faced six batters and got 1 out and let up a grand slam I wouldn't call that hitting spots. Now I may be wrong but that's how I see it. Why don't you just drop it rather than trying to stir up things.
I apologize if the things I wrote offended anyone. That truly wasn't my intent. I forgot to take into account that these were people's children I was talking about, and that upsets people a little quicker than other things, rightfully so. I also failed to take into account that words can be, and most often are, misconstrued on a computer screen. It's hard to tell intent when you aren't looking at a person. I promise my intent was simply to find information about an intriguing game at first. Then to make sure that some kids, and that's what they still are, weren't taking this "game" too seriously. They aren't in the big leagues and there should be no beanball wars going on. I think they should just be enjoying the game. From experience, I know how much you miss it when you can't do it anymore, especially when you take it for granted. I promise to keep these observations to myself from now on, and again, I apologize for any offense taken.
