Thunderstorms are forecast for Friday.

Concern is that the tarp may have to stay on the field overnight in order to have the field ready for Saturday's games.

Dilema, Landstown is scheduled to play in the first game at 10am. I hope they (the players) don't have to get their early to pull the tarp and then play.

I am sure Coach Mungin has a game-plan for this scenario.

What a great day for baseball. Got a little sun, tired and worn out, but loved every minute of the day.

Real good games today with some upsets aplenty.

Home Runs hit today by OL Pat Hall; Baysides Zaine Jack and Kellam's Ryan Kilmon. (Ben Tomchick just missed the left-field 330 mark by 3-4 feet)

Halls was an instant no-doubter as was Kilmon's; great efort by the OL outfielder trying to get to Jack's and bring it back.

Kilmon's was the biggest, a Grand Slam which broke a 0-0 tie in the third.

Most impressive pitching performances is a toss-up between Landstown's Michael Curry in relief of the Eagles starter Cameron Butler at the top-half of the 6th (Butler struck out 9 allowing only 3 hits). He came in with a 1-0 lead and allowed 0-hits and zero runs.

Ben Tomchick came in relief of PA starter Dylan Hudson trailing 6-2 and pretty much shut-down the Sun-Devils offense with only un-earned run.

Salem pitcher Rey Centeno (chksp)did a nice job in relief; coming in the 2nd going 52/3rd's strong innings before the Cavaliers started to catch-up scoring 3 runs with two-outs.

But,the performance of Kellam's Jeff Difulgo was probably the most gutsy keeping the Cox Falcon hitters off-balance with a nasty splitter.

The best defense performance; Landstown. Ocean Lakes,Kellam and Salem were all solid. Landstown turned several double-plays and did not commit an error.

Small-Ball: Both Landstown and Salem executed suicide-squeezes for runs and several sacrifice bunts. The best bunt for a hit was by Kellam's batter in the top of the 7th (sorry didn't catch the name).

Players of the Day:
Concession workers and Field crew and great job by the Game(s) Announcer; I really liked the music selection.

Tuesday / May 20th
4:00pm Landstown vs Ocean Lakes
7:00pm Kellam vs Salem

SEMIFINAL

Ocean Lakes 10 Landstown 4

Salem 12 Kellam 2

Note: Missed the first game.

OL put a 5 spot on the board in the first off starter K. Lawhorn. Jesse Mcartney followed in relief in the 2nd (a pre-game decision)pitching a real nice 3 innings of shut-out ball.

With the score 5-4 favor of OL,a walk-a-thon ensued in the top of the 5th with Landstown pitching failing to find the strike zone.

Arrived with Salem in the lead 4-0 only to watch them tack on 4 more for a 8-0 after 1.(I was told Robbie Newman tacked on another HR???)

The pattern for both teams in the tourney has been to get out to a big lead early.

Big Championship game for bothe teams with the winner joining Landstown in the Regionals.

Best of Luck to both teams.
