S. Sinnen pitched 4, Moynihan pitched at least 2 for Kellam (I left after 5 1/2 innings). Staskey pitched into the 5th (I believe) for Salem, and was relieved by Musante and maybe one other pitcher.

Will be interesting who will pitch for Kellam tomorrow vs. Landstown.

I think he only pitched those two innings so he might start today. Looks like Kellam has plenty of pitching though. Should be fun to watch how they work the rotation today. They have a bye Friday (correct?) so they have time to recover regardless of who they throw today.

How could Moynihan get the W when he came in with the lead in the 5th? Shouldn't the win go to Sam Sinnen?

Not sure where your question is going. I didn't indicate who got the win at all, Redbird....

Salem tied the game up at 3 apiece with three unearned runs, but I'm not sure whether that happened in the top 4th or 5th....

The Pilot reported that Moynihan got the win.

The pilot is wrong, Sammy came out in 5th with kellam up 4-3. Sammy should have got the win.
In that scenario, the starter CANNOT, under any circumstances, qualify for the win, because NFHS rules are clear in requiring a starter to complete the 4th inning. This is a common source of mistakes, especially in games shortened by the slaughter rule, but it's still the rule.

The middle guy would get the win if his team had the lead as of the time the closer entered the game and the lead was never relinquished. If it turns out that the winning team took the lead only after the closer came in, then he would get the W.
Here is the situation, Team A is up 4 to 3 in the 3 rd inning, pitcher for Team A is relieved after pitching 2 and 2/3rd Inning, relief pitches comes in and completes 3 rd inning and pitches 1 and 1/3 score less innings, so now another pitcher comes in and pitches the 6th and team wins by mercy rule, so who gets win? the 2nd pitcher who held the lead, or closer?, or the 1st guy because game only went 6 innings?

Assuming Team A never fell behind or was tied the first reliever usually gets the win although the MLB does allow wiggle room for the Scorekeeper to credit a win to the most effective picher. So if a team used it's #2 in the top of the 3rd to get out of the inning and then blew the game open in the bottom of the inning and reliever #8 from the bullpen came in for the last two innings he could qualify for the win. The starter gets 2 2/3 innings of 3 run ball to his credit and that's it.

MLB's Official Rules of Baseball, because they are so much more detailed and specific, are sometimes consulted to resolve vagaries in other groups' rules. However, on this rule, NFHS, NCAA and MLB rules are all different, and the very explicit differences make it a mistake to resort to ORB for interpretation of NFHS.

For example, MLB-ORB is not going to help you if you're trying to decide whether you can credit a starter with a win in a 5-inning slaughter game where he was pulled after 3 innings because of the game situation. That's because in MLB there is no slaughter rule, so you're not going to find anything referencing a comparable situation.

NCAA and only NCAA has a provision to permit a coach to declare a "staff game" prior to first pitch, in which case the starter can qualify for a win without completing the 5th. Again, nothing comparable in the ORB, nor in the NFHS.

WB Reporter is right, coaches often credit wins in their internal stats that are not per the rules. It's not really correct. But it's also not a big source of complaint, either.
