Landstown 7 Kellam 3

Kyle Lawhorn pitched a 2-hit shutout through six innings with an 8 strikeout effort. Actually, it was a pitchers duel up to the fifth inning with Jeff Difulgo on the hill for the Knights.

The Eagles got on the board first from a solo-blast to left by Cameron Butler leading off the 2nd.

Mike Fedunewiecz would account for the 2nd run in the 3rd by tripling to right-center then was awarded home on an over through out-of-play.

The fifth would unravel on the young Kellam pitcher after one out; consecutives singles by Lawhorn (2 hits on the day) Day and Butler (2nd hit) loaded the bases. A walk to Fedunewiecz plated the first run and that would be it for Difulgo. He appeared to of just ran out of gas.

The new pitcher was greeted with a 2 run rbi double to right-center by DH Scott Hurrel. Ray Mance's FC to SS plated the next run with Jeremy Sandifer's rbi single to center accounted for all of the scoring.

Edit: In the bottom of the 7th, things would get shaky for the Landstown starter as the Knights would put up a fight till the end. A routine pop-up was dropped by the pitcher. With a runner on first, 1B Ryan Kilmon hit a first pitch fastball over the fence in the right-field corner. The next batter made it to third after the RF attempted a diving catch and got past. A base hit after a strikeout would plate the final run with a strkeout and flyout to center to end the game.

The game was moving quickly up to the fifth. Kellam had several chances with runners on 2nd and 3rd,but failed to capitalize.
