Salem-15 Tallwood-2

Salem came out swinging today puting a ton of pressure on the lions early. After a tough loss yesterday The sundevils came back and let go of their frustrations on tallwood.

Chris "Moose" Calquhoun hit his first homerun of the season today with a line drive over the left center fence.

PA 6 Bayside 4

Bayside kept PA on their toes. Nick Wilson pitched a great game for Bayside and the young team put the ball in play. PA came back with 4 runs in the 6th when they were down 4-2. Pat Wagner started and his offspeed stuff had Bayside confused at first;Tyler Reed entered the game in relief and pitched his heart out,and got the win. Errors for PA almost took them out of the game completely. Congrats to Bayside on a great performance!
Landstown 8 Bayside 2

Ryan Crain pitched a complete game giving up 0 earned runs and 4 hits, striking out 9. Zack Hutchison and Deshawn Showell had 3 hits apiece as Landstown had 16 hits. Tim Soliday didn't have a hit but had 2 RBI's on a sac fly and infield ground-out.

Bayside played a pretty solid game defensively, they just couldn't group hits together. They appear to be very young. With a number of freshman and sophomores starting.
Unfortunaly for Kempsville, for second game in a row against a beach district top team their Ace pitcher did not start nor appear in relief??? Nor did their #2 guy??? Starter was allowed to endure the fustration for entire 7 innings with no relief????I think team has 6 pitchers. Inconsitant infield lineup resulted in inconsitant infield play (except for 1st baseman)for 2nd game in a row with 15-20 errors or mental mistakes in last 2 games. Once again, hope things settle back down and kids can focus and get back on track, I wish them luck.
Only shining moment was Bill Henson's HR. He is a great kid, my congrats also.
Kemps 1 Landstown 3

It was good to see Ramerez pitch well, but it just wasn't enough. Low scoring, low hit game and yes the wind was terrible for all the kids and fans. Kempsville's left side of infield made a few costly mistakes. You just cannot watch a ball go past you with runners in scoring position. Oh well. Base running didn't help kempsville's cause. Chiefs bats need to come back alive to be competitive. Maybe next time. Godd luck next game.
Tim Soliday pitched 6.2 innings for Landstown against Kempsville giving up 5 hits and only 1 run and had 5 K's. Ryan Crain came on in the 7th with 2 on and 2 outs to record his first save. Crain, Frank Laster, and Jack Reynolds had the RBI's for Landstown. Reynolds had 2 hits. The Eagles' defense played well with 2 double plays.

I live in Waco, am a Baylor grad, and a huge BU baseball fan and supporter. We're thrilled to have Beamer Weems playing for the Bears next season.

Can anyone who has seem him play provide some info about what type of player he is, his strengths, etc...? What kind of stats has he put up this season and last?

Appreciate it.
