Kemps-Kellam game was one heck of a game. Kellam had a few chances to put game out of reach, but the defensive play of the Chiefs Centerfielder (Bullamn) and 2nd Baseman (Lee) along with pitching (Rameriz) kept Kellam from plating additional runs. The Chiefs battled to the end. Alexander hits a HR in the 6th to put the Chiefs to within 1. Bullman hit a lead off double in the 7th, and advances to 3rd on a steal, followed by an infield single by Lee. After suffering a stikeout, Kemps scores on a Sac RBI groundout by Little and runner advances to 2nd. The Chiefs Henson is then intentionally walked to put runners 1st and 2nd. Unfortuntanly the Chiefs were unable to convert the go ahead run.
Kellam's Nate Akers had a breakout day at the plate and hit the lead off HR that ended the game in the bottom of the 7th. Congrats to Nate and the rest of the Kellam players on their hard fought win.
Heard that the Chiefs 1B (Murphy) who was knock out of the game on a wild pitch suffered fracutures to his cheek and will be out of any action for approx 1 month. Wish him a speedy recovery and hope to hear about him back out on the diamond and doing well.
