Great story.......I bet the young man will benefit from his "luck"

Maybe it was being in the right place at the right time.

The player made the request to play on his own. This showed self-confidence.

He had no doubt of his ability to succeed.
The American and Japan pitchers were all throwing 90 and above fast balls and sliders.

He will catch in pro baseball.

In my 23 years of Area Code Baseball and International Goodwill Series, this event in Cooperstown and the discovery of Albert Pujois are my highlights of the game.

What a great opportunity & exciting experience for that young man. A good example of how skills, chutzpah and being in the right place at the right time can put a player on the radar screen.
