bballer...I played there when it was St. Procopius College.
Different school now with an ever-improving sports program. I think that they are now Division III...were NAIA when I went there.
Always good academic programs with an emphasis that the undergrad degree will not be your terminating degree. Lots of grad school and med school candidates.
Benedictine is a top NAIA program. They are pretty agressive in recruiting and do a good job. As an FYI, the coach has told me that he has six guys on his pitching staff that are 90+. You'd better be an upper tier guy to play at these better NAIA schools.
I did a little googling and I think rbinaz may be refering to Benedictine College in Kansas. From their website, they seem to have a very good NAIA baseball program.
Here in Illinois of course, Benedictine University is DIII in the Northern Illinois - Iowa Conference. Two of my nephew's high school teammates have been on the team there the last four years, with one of them finishing up this year as a redshirt senior.
Beautiful new sports complex built in conjuction with the town of Lisle. New football, baseball and softball stadiums. Summer home of the Dupage Dragons baseball team in the Central Illinois Collegiate League and the Chicago Bandits pro softball team, featuring Jenny Finch.
I was indeed referring to Benedictine in Kansas. My bad. As for beenthere's comments, top NAIA programs can certainly hold their own against most of the D1 schools in the country.
I believe Beenthere was was refering to Benedictine University here in Illinois. I don't think his comments were in relation to the apparent high quality NAIA program at Benedictine College in Kansas. I have seen NAIA's that could compete with many D1's.
