They joined the SAA when they broke away from the SCAC schools.

There are some very good schools in the SAA, Birmingham Southern, Milsaps, Rhodes and Hendrix. 

 

Berry finished second in the conference last year, at 14-7, with an overall record of 29-15.

The SAA did not have a pool A bid this year but I think they will have one next spring or the year after.  As per the following link it sounds like they do for Baseball but I am not sure:

So to sum up it is a good baseball school in a good conference in a tough region.
