To be legal for high school play per the NFHS rules, the bat must be no more than -3 and must have the BESR screened on marking.
No -3, no BESR screened on, its not legal for play.....some bats include the comment meets High school standards, but that line is not required or judged when validating a bat....
The reason the bat must haver a screened on BESR is that for the past few years a BESR sticker was pernmitted to be on the bat....that is no longer the case....

Looking for the -3, screened on BESR, flat spots on barrel and cracking. The green TPX bats are bad about cracking in the barrel.
