No offense to Tampa because it is a nice field and I have met some other HSBBW members from there but that field is not as nice as Delta States' field with it's covered stands behind the plate with stadium seats in the lower level and lush green grass the whole season which certainly wasn't in Tampa by the Regionals. No covered seating in the hot Tampa sun either.

Delta State leads or finishes second in DII attendance every year and the field is one of the major reasons with its scoreboard with each players picture as they bat to the beautiful trees behind the fences with a golf course beyond that. It has a marble stone motif at the entryways with every player to win awards permanently engraved by year and an incredible museum dedicated to Dave "Boo" Ferris who built the program into a winner and was a great ML star of the 1940's.

It rains a lot and the rich Delta soil keeps the grass emerald green ALL the time. There is also a room dedicated to memoribilia from Delta State teams and professional players. Bathrooms are large multiperson right behind the seats unlike Tampa.  There are indoor batting cages that can be lifted up for infield practice as well as an turf batting cage for the visitors. Now after all this, a one million dollar renovation is being done which will make almost all the seats into stadium type seats and even more will be covered. The stadium seats 1500 and has had crowds of over 2000. Behind the left and right field fences are two overturned railroad box cars with rails where fans can bring lawn chairs. Except for teams that use minor league stadiums, I have not seen a nicer DII field in all my baseball travels. Also, Lord help the opposing left fielders who are in the clutches of the Left Field Crew with their giant BBQ pit and own stands right in the left field corner!
