Best beach players

well stapler, the beach is filled with an incredible amount of talent this year. But here are my pics:

P-Walker(cox), Martin(cox), Mania(cox), Buffington (salem)
C-Kellihan(cox), Cruit(FC)
1B- Malbon (cox), Rivera (pa)
2B-Owen(PA),
SS- Weems(PA), Shea (cox)
3B- Adams(cox)
OF- Stenger(cox)(if hes healthy), and the rest are up for grabs

I believe that the team to beat in the beach will be cox. 7 of the 9 starters for cox are seniors and all of them can hit. If PA and Kellam are able to score some runs, they could give cox some competition. With the seaon about a week away it will be intresting to see which teams can keep up.

I hope Cox can hit as good as you say thay can. I watched a game this fall where they faced a 10th grader and he shut them down pretty good.

I also believe you must attend Cox, or be their biggest fan. You are missing an opportunity to look around the entire Beach to name some of the best players.

C- Falls (PA)
Honnicut (Kemp)

SS- Bierce (Kell)

P- Donavan (Kell)
Hewitt (Kemp)

And there are plenty more out there, if others would like to share their opinions.

It should be a very exciting year on the diamond.

Lets all HOPE that Cox is as good as they think they are. Because the first time they lose a game I bet this board will be full of post.

Honeycutt and Neil Ramirez from Kempsville should also be pretty good on the mound.

you are right, i am an incredible fan of cox, however, and i do believe there is other talent beyond these players. But there is no way that you can tell me that Falls is better catcher than Kellihan or Cruit. Donavan is a decent pitcher, but he probably will be kellam's number 2 or 3 guy this year. I did forget to mention Sean Ray, a hard throwing sophmore from kellam and also Billy Muler, who is a good infielder for FC. I still believe no team in the beach has anything on cox's pitching staff.

Walker and Martin from Cox, Ray from Kellam (he should see plenty of time on varsity), Buffingham and Spears from Salem.

As for Cox...on any given day, any team is beatable!!

I sure hope Cox wins it (for the coach's sake).

The beach district is very competitive and each team has significant players. Cox has Walker and Martin on the mound. FC has Cruit and PA has Owen. But any team is capable of winning on any given day in the beach district.

I apologize for using a name. I just found it ironic that someone could sign with a school and was academically ineligible to play. I do hope that rumor is false. He is a good kid and his parents are wonderful people.

Philly Fan - Sorry I missed one.. to tell you the truth I haven't read the entire Western Branch/Cox thread.... after awhile it gets boring to read the same thing year in and year out .

Now I am off to see where I can find a hill in Northern VA and a hick (CV are you around anywhere) to see what all the fuss is all about

To the beach folks, most of us enjoy your interest in your teams. It makes for interesting reading at times. I wish more posters from other districts shared your passion.
