Just thought I'd start the threat - can't remember if we've had this one before or not. Understand, I'm talking about the best clinic SPEAKER, not necessarily the best COACH at the clinic. As we all know, some guys can truly coach their tails off...but are as boring as HADES when they have to explain what they do to other coaches!

Of the ones I've heard in the last few years, here are some of the best (off the top of my head):
-Skip Bertman
-Mark Martin
-Turtle Thomas
-Itch Jones
-Ron Polk

***name some others please!

Coach Cohen from the University of Kentucky! His presentations are done with PowerPoints which include videos of drills or concepts he is speaking about. They also involve some very good handouts. I've had the pleasure of being able to talk to him about some of his stuff and he has never gladhanded me and walked off. I can be a pest at times and so, I appreciated the depth of our discussions. JMHO!
Steve Jaksa of Central Mich Univ @ the 05 MHSBCA Clinic on baserunning which is an oft overlooked/undercoached fundamental. Historically I gained the most from Danny Hall when he was an asst at Univ. of Mich back in the mid 80's.
I have attended 4 different presentations by Dr. Tom House. I have great respect for him but I seem to always come away confused.
tommy pharr from farrugat high school in knoxville is excellent. ive really enjoyed playing them and talking to him. hes got it figured out. simcox from ut is very good especially infield play. pitching coach from vandy is good havent heard corbin but impressed with stuff i get from him same with coach cohen at kentucky. daron schoenrock from univ of memphis is very good and helpful with pitching info. got alot of good stuff from him and also fred corral. these are guys that are very good at clinics, phone calls, emails, etc.

I took my high school baseball team on a spring trip to work out at the University of Louisville a few years back when Zerilla was a coach there. What a quality guy! He took time out to talk to my guys for probably an hour about all kinds of things relating to the game - and he stopped by to watch one of our scrimmages as well. He is a great baseball man.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to revive it because I just got a flyer for the 2009 Baseball Bash in Richmond, and Coach Cohen is scheduled to speak on Thursday night, January 8. Other coaches will include:

Mark Marquess- Stanford
Erik Bakich- Vanderbilt
Ryan Wheeler- Richmond
Fred Corral- Tennessee
Spanky McFarland- JMU
Joe Raccuia- Radford
Marlin Ikenberry- VMI
Kevin Anderson- Shenandoah

Got to hear Coach Cohen last year at the Texas High School Coaches' Clinic. Ron Polk was also there as well as Roger Clemens (who did a great job speaking by the way), and others, but every year along with the big name guys we have high school coaches speak as well. Some are local and some from out of state, but more times than not the hs coaches are dishing out some quality information (just as they do on this site).
The Bash part is for coaches, although that doesn't necessarily mean that a player couldn't attend if they were interested in learning more about the game. However, there is a Future Stars Clinic that you'll see on the left side of the link I provided. This is specifically for players.

Yes, I went last year for the first time. It is well worth the money. I don't think enough coaches take advantage of the opportunity. Last year there wasn't huge attendance at the Thursday night segment (UNC Coach Mike Fox was the speaker). It's packed on Friday (in part because it's an excused absense from school for a lot of the HS coaches). After lunch on Saturday, things clear out a lot. They offer a free raffle at the end of the day Saturday to try to get more folks to hang around.

Great location right off of I-64 in Richmond's West End. Obviously, they bring in an exceptional group of head and assistant coaches from the collegiate level (as well as a handful from the HS level). There are also some vendors there if you're looking for any equipment or merchandise.

In short, when I got my brochure in the mail, I was excited enough that I immediately sat down and pored over all of this year's topics and speakers. You won't leave disappointed.

I am an old timer so bear with me. This is a classic. I had the pleasure of listening to Ted Williams talk at a clinic back in the 70's(1970's)Smile
I went to dinner and came back and overheard 2 coaches discussing hitting. One bbrought up a point Williams had made. The other one responded "Williams did not know what he was talking about"
