I searched, but didn't find anything recent on this topic (apologies if I missed it). If you were choosing the most elite travel tournaments with the best competition and exposure to college scouts, what tourney(s) would you recommend? I will list the ones I am aware of.

Midwest Prospect League - Grand Park IN (Summer)

ABC Championship - Grand Park IN (Summer)

WWBA National Championship - ?? (Summer)

Music City Classic - Nashville (Summer)

My son played in the Midwest Prospect League 5 years ago....we had a team that almost every kid was getting recruited by D1's and there were more coaches at every game by far than any games we played at the Music City Classic....and it wasn't close.  Some of our games had 30+ coaches watching, and we were the "B" team in our organization (both were in the league).   Neither is to the level of the WWBA...they are at a level all their own.  Can't speak for ABC, as it wasn't there when my son played.

The PG changeup of things will dictate the future for some.  It is according to what region of the US you are wanting to be recruited for.  There are tournaments that are nationally recruited and then there are tournaments that are regionally recruited for.  WWBA has been the most recruited but we will see as the venues change.  PG World Series East/West are highly recruited regionally but not nationally.  Jupiter is highly recruited by Pros but not so much by college because it is usually Senior player dominated and most players whose teams are going to Jupiter have already been committed.  Wilson is SEC and regionally recruited but not nationally.  The same with Music City Classic.  Not nationally recruited.

The most recruited event of all I believe is the PBR futures game but not a team event but individual.

MPL and ABC draw about the same crowd of scouts. They are especially good if you are targeting schools in that general midwest/OH Valley region. Although I saw P5 scouts from TX at ABC as well this year. I didn't see many scouts at Music City Classic this year, but our game at Vandy got rained out so I thought maybe there would have been some there. Only saw a couple scouts from smaller schools at the other venues, and our first morning there were none at that HS field.

The BEST event for being seen is PBR Futures.  Invite only, right before junior year.  It is only for uncommitted kids. We've been to pretty much every high profile, elite invitational event for 16 and 17 year olds.  Hands down best for recruiting that I've witnessed.

While that might be true, there are hundreds of future D1 players who don't play that event.  It's really only 12-15 players from each state, and depending on the state there can be a lot of politics involved in who goes and who doesn't, based on which travel team a kid plays and all sorts of other random criteria.  If you get the opportunity to play in the PBR Futures, absolutely go do it.  But it really shouldn't be something anyone should count on as part of their recruiting journey.

I can only speak for Texas, but we only attended one prior PBR event a year before the futures and were asked to do the event. I have advised people to email the director and ask what they can do or needed to do to get the invitation.  A lot of events need an invite.  The Jr National is only about 400 kids but also a great event for recruiting.  The Underclass All American is a great experience but not huge in terms of recruiting.  If you can push to get one invite, I’d want The Futures...that’s all I’m saying.  Sure kids commit from all kinds of things.
