Houston by a long shot.
My first inclination was Houston, but this guy named Clayton Kershaw was out of DFW... and these guys Cameron Rupp, Joseph Leftridge, and Blake Beaven... all in AFLAC. I'd say if you took the all-stars from each region and played head to head, it'd be a coin flip for every game. Baseball in Texas is that good.

Over the last 20 years, how many state championships have been won by Houston area teams and how many from the Dallas area?

Those prospects you mentioned did extremely well at AFLAC. I was there and somewhat in shock and awe at the continued amount of unbelievable talent coming out of TX. You people are doing something really right out there and it is evident in the past drafts and prospects of future drafts. I read this TX forum a great deal and one can easily see the competitive spirits and competition here and maybe that's it. Compete and you shall receive.

Houston area teams have won 14 5A State Championships since 1984. Thats 14 out of 23 years, which is a pretty good record. Thats 60% from the Houston Area. Houston has also won 7 out of the last 9. Both teams in this years final were from Houston.(The Woodlands and Katy)

I think it's hard to compare state titles. I am not discrediting Houston by any means. Some of the teams they have been putting up are amazing. My point is that every area is widespread with the talent in many areas. DFW select teams search all over the metroplex (lets assume Plano, Mckinney, and all realitively close suburbs are included) and then they also tap into Waco, Waxahachie, Ennis region. My point is that all these studs are in a wide range... and I'm sure the same can be said for Houston. I guess I'm trying to say if you put up the best team possible by the given region... it'd be much more even. This may be confusing... I'm confused with my last statement.
I'm just answering an earlier question. Not sure either if State championships are a good barometer, but it is still an impressive run.
