Correction on San Jac winning National Championship....they haven't in a while since Wayne Graham was there but have finished in the top 2 many times. Other good schools in North Texas are McLennan, Vernon and Temple. Coaches at all 3 of these are outstanding and work well with kids. Region V East conference probably the toughtest conference in the U.S.
Here at Eastfield, we had three pitchers sign early with D1 schools this Fall. Not bad for a bunch of kids who didn't get any scholarship offers out of high school. Also have several other guys who will sign during the Spring. Check our website at www.eastfieldcollege.com/baseball for more details, schedule, and history of the program. Also have pictures of facilities and contact info for our coaching staff.
It has to be hosted on an active website. If it is a graphic on your website. Go to the picture, right click your mouse on it. A window will open up and at the bottom will be the word "properties". Click on it. another window will open and the third item down will say a "address" with "url" underneath it. Highlight and copy the adress/url. Then place it in the avatar of this site.

If you have other graphics in the office, it has to be put on a website for it to work.

That is how I did this one.

Good baseball program and the head coach is a real solid baseball guy with a no nonsense approach.

Great small town atmoshpere and great place to concentrate on baseball and academics in preparation for move to the next level. Plays against some of the best JUCO competition around.

My oldest was recruited by the VJC head coach when he was an assistant at NMJC and we signed. If my youngest son is considered good enough to be recruited by VJC I will be excited.

If you want more first hand info you can go to the Texas Blacksox web site and contact them as they are just around the corner from them.
Vernon JC - GED10 played there this summer at a fall showcase. Great small town school and solid baseball players. Easy to get to/from the panhandle and North Texas areas.

Grayson County - GED10 played there also, over the fall season. They were treated especially well, super nice coaches and good facilities. Really solid program and national champs, a recipe that's hard to beat!

NJCAA National Poll has three ranked in the Top 10.
1 Grayson County College
5 San Jacinto College-North
6 Howard College

Good solid program, Coach Coleman is in his second year, he coached at Lubbock High School prior to his move to MC. Coleman's got some solid coaching credentials including D1 experience at TX A&M. Coach Coleman runs a tight ship, the college has a strong placement record too. I watched them in a Fall showcase at Tx Tech in October, they looked good.

Several solid local Lubbock players on the current roster and two 2008 Texas 3A state champions.

They play in the old Midland AA Angels ballfield at CHRISTENSEN STADIUM, has had some recent field and clubhouse updates too.

My son was at Midland for 2 years, one year under Coach Coleman.

The team had a winning record and made the play-offs both years he was there although they did not advance.

The field is a former minor league location and offers nice amenities for the home team. Gotta watch those little gophers and bunny rabbits that wander onto the field from time to time though Smile
The folks doing the press box do a nice job providing a fun atmosphere.

Coach Coleman worked them hard and expected hard work but my son appreciated the fact that he treated them with respect and had an open door policy to discuss issues. He also liked that they were treated like adults (at 18, they are mom and dad, though we sometimes forget...)and not every moment was controlled. Coach Rodriguez is also very knowledgeable.

The academic advisor for the athletes is WONDERFUL. She treats them all as if they are her own kids making sure they get the classes they need. She knew my son was into music and signed him up to perform a few times...and came to watch :>

I liked the general support the school provided the athletes with professors, counselors, the AD often at games.

The dorms were comfortable, the class size appealing and the academic support was suited to the player. My son didn't need much, but it was available for those who did.

My son didn't play summer ball as he was having surgery after freshman year but I know they place guys around the country. Coach Coleman was also active in helping his players find schools as they moved on.

All in all, it was a good experience.
