Best of luck to two Maryland teams down at the Junior Olympics in Jupiter, FL this week. The MD Patriots and Most Valuable Player. My son played for both teams over the years and made a lot of good friends off of both teams. Most are still playing college ball or in the pros.

i played for coach mccormick on the mvp team. some of my observations:
- southwest airlines is a nightmare leaving bwi for w palm beach, but it's a breeze coming home.
- doubletree hotel in palm beach gardens is awesome in terms of location, convenience, hospitality, cleanliness.
- west palm beach is a cool town, no traffic, beaches close by and not crowded.
- coach mccormick and his assistants did a great job! considering we went to florida without knowing each other, and we had to quickly come together as a team, i'm sure that was tough on the coaches. i know as a player in the field, it was difficult making some plays because we didn't know each other's abilities.
- coach mccormick always took the time to teach us and he never gave up on us -- thanks, coach!
- my teammates represented maryland and their hometowns well. lots of talent on my team, especially at pitching. too bad we don't play together in high school, i know we could win a few championships.
- florida facilities for marlins and stl cardinals were nice, but i think the arizona facilities are better.
- too bad about the multiple rain days, otherwise a great experience for any serious baseball player.

shout out to all my teammates! good luck and hope to play with you again!
I have been involved on a special project and apologize for not seeing these comments earlier.

I certainly do appreciate the kind words, it does mean a lot.

My purpose is to help players learn how to play this game to the highest level individually, and respect the game as a team. As I told each player, this game is an individual sport in a team concept.

The hard part is the uneasiness of playing the game individually. It kind of goes against the normal coaching concept, but by me approaching it this way each player gets to find out who they are, what they need to work on, but more importantly I think they realize when they do the right thing, this game is really simple.

The simple aspect of the game also lets you know if you don't do the little things right, winning is very difficult.

I, like everyone else, love to win, but for every player that truly learns something and builds on it, I will accept losing a game as an opportunity to get better.

Again, thank you for your kind words. As, with every player I get the opportunity to work with, call me if you need anything.
