I'm just too torn between Wood and Prior that I'm unable to cast a vote. The simulated games that these two have been throwing are gems and it's just not fair to cast a vote for one and not the other. Is there some way that I can cast a half vote for each of them.
Another funny one
Gamer , good call.
I'll take Buerle and his 200 plus every season over any of these. Although Contreras is making me a beleiver...

For what Contreras has done for the White Sox in the second half of last season and the playoffs; and, what I saw last night:
Contreras gets my vote even though he's 45 years old.

haha what a joke, get real
He does it again!
FastballDad, way to go ahead and jinx Maddux. Now you're right up there with Bartman and the goat!
Maddux....
Hall of Fame career and numbers from his days with Atlanta.
When the advance ML scouts saw that his velocity didn't top 84-85 in the first inning, changed everyone's attitude about hitting against him.
I suppose he can hang around 'til he's 50 like that guy with the Mariners, but I don't think Greg would do that.
When a guy can't throw a ball by you (that is what the 86 mph minimum is all about), you can sit on anything. M needs velocity to get all that movement, i.e., all of those pitches on the outside corner (late movement).
Congrats on a fine career, GM.
When you retire you can watch all of those Cub studs, i.e., Marshall; Wood; Prior; and, even "Mr. Hamburger", Rich (I'm in the minors again and I don't know the rules of baseball) Hill.
Go White Sox!

Sayonara, Greg.
2-7, 6.83 ERA since May 3rd for the "nearly" bottom-feeding Cubbies....

Bad team, not an overpowering pitcher. A bad mix. I guess we can all agree that there really aren't any great pitchers on either Chicago Team. That's something we can all agree upon.
contreras has been very good bordering on great.

Agree with lineshot...Contreras all day long.
Anyone that thinks there is a better pitcher than Jose Contreras in all of MLB at this very moment is probably related to Jim Hendry!
i hear andrew beatty with the dupage dragons isn't too bad
a little dragon love for soxnole
Hendry thinks that Smadjia (sp) from Notre Dame is!!!! 7 million!!!!!!!!!! O-O-O-P's, I forgot, "projectibility"!!!!!!!! BS!!!!!!!!
I wonder how long it would take for surgeons to separate Hendry and Minarei (sp)??????? What ever happened to Grant Johnson???? Signed for 2.5 million!!!!!
Hendry should have signed Scherzer from Mizzou. Kid can "PITCH"!!! Pitch being the keyword.

Sox spent nearly $5 million for Borchard to give up football.
He should be playing football.
-----
Grant Johnson 4-5 with a 5.00+ era at Daytona, A ball.
Kerry Wood hit .500 at Iowa, AAA.
Brandon Sing has struggled at .187 and .177 in AA-AAA. Playing first base. Sounds like he should change organizations with Derrick Lee at 1st base.

boomer, why oh why would you recommend anyone from Mizzou. yuk, mizzou. or as my daughters school ( kansas ) says MUCK FIZZOU. i like smardzja only cause i love notre dame but, you are correct about the bonus. the kicker is , if he quits baseball, he still gets 1 mil. gotta love the cubbies. better yet, you gotta love the ND education. he must have an accounting degree......bet scherzer or whatever his name is doesn't have one. prob has a 1.2 gpa....i don't follow them that closely. i have NO love for that school. they fell very far from my list. i know it doesn't mean much to many on this website but, i don't care. i wish they would have lost every game this season. they made some big mistakes on these illinois kids. and they will pay for it down the road. ( I CAN ONLY HOPE)
Sweaty
Why do you hate Mizzou so much? Are they really any different from some of these other big programs? Very interested here.
I won't mention that I graduated from there and that it was a great school! oops, already did...

How about Glavine?
