Sabathia plays in the AL so he don't hit, except in interleage games in NL parks. He has 2 hits this year, yes one of them is a homerun but I would like to see if he could keep up that 333 AVG all year. If he played in the AL of course.
before wolf on the phillies got TJ surgery, i woulda liked to see him bat before catcher mike lieberthal in the order..averages are very similar, power is close, and wolf had much more speed
I'll say Hampton any day. He had 10 or more bombs one year, and he didn't even play every day. Imagine how many he would have had hitting every game???? I don't care WHERE he plays, he's a good hitter.
Tim Hudson isnt too bad and his senior year at Auburn he hit 18 HR with 95 RBI and his average was .396, OBP was .430 and his slugging was .670. Hes not too bad with wood either
Just because a pitcher could hit in college does not mean he can hit in the big leauges. Another former A's Mark Mulder was a good college hitter, he was a DH for Michigan. Just like Hudson, he can't hit. There AVG are almost the same at just over .100.
Yeah the Braves put out a lot of good hitting pitchers. John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, Jason Marquis, Kevin Millwood, Tommy Glavine, Mike Hampton and Tim Hudson are all above average hitting pitchers.
jason marquis was 2 for 3 in a losing effort. He had a big RBI double that brought the cards within a run until he ran in to problems on the hill. Plus he can run he also beat out an infield single
Jason Vargas/ Marlins. He was the DH at Long Beach State last year and DH/Pitcher when he pitched. If he was removed from the game as a pitcher, he remained the DH for the next pitcher.
