Bulldog 19,

That's what the players are for....cheap manual labor.

High School...tarps are really simple. Players put the tarps on or risk death by running. No decent HS coach would tolerate the players not taking care of the field.

Rec/public parks....seen it work well but does take alot of coordination w/coaches. Theft of tarps at times was an issue but not major.
We are going to to have a demonstration today on the field that mother nature has rained on for the last 24 hours of a "powder" sold by "DryMyField". I am assuming it one of the super absorbing products that are used in diapers. Their video sure looks interesting.
We have been using "bags of absorbent" method. And have been trying to add infield mix every fall to "crown" the infield... we are almost there with that.
Has anyone used these products and what results have you seen. Any concerns with leaving this material mixed with the surface? I always tried to remove the "litter" when it had done its job.
Ground up corn husk, a buddy of mine uses it in WV for his field, he said coaches have to put it down becuase it is so absorbent that you shouldn't breath it in, but i have witnessed the fact that one bag of it will dry half of a field in a matter of minutes he had a severe wet spot after a storm used the rake to spread out the water spread it out gently and raked it out again within 20 minutes field looked great, i was amazed.
