the best in new england in my opinion is the top 96, in mass. they have a web site. teamone, area code, perfect game get the most national attention. some on this web site recomend college select but the binghampton showcase didn't have many coaches in attendance, maybe because it was late summer ,it seems to be more of a fun showcse but run well, in my opinion if you go to some of these ,and are talented, you'll get noticed good like
The 2 best we saw in New England were College Select and Top96. CS in Norwich (July) had 50+ colleges, and some good talent. Top 96 probably had about 75 colleges, good talent, and was in August. Great response from both.
If you're a pitcher, Top 96 gave you 6 batters to face, and then you were done. They've increased the number of kids to the point it's probably closer to the Top 196 (IMO). As a pitcher, you never got to the plate, or to play a secondary position. CS ran 8 teams of ~12 guys in 4 games over 2 days. You got to play more innings, more positions, more at bats, etc. My son had the unique opportunity in one AB to drive in 5 runs, including himself. The school he committed to, saw him at both, and started recruiting him from there.

I agree with NJBBDad Selectfest is the best around here.

Selectfest will only allow a certain number of players attend. This keeps the event moving quickly and everyone gets the same amount of exposure before the scouts fall asleep or leave.

Another showcase I would recommend is Joe Wladyka's. I am not talking about his summer camp/showcase. He runs a 2-day showcase in early February at Giants Stadium in E. Rutherford NJ. Not much is going on in February and if your in shape it's worth going to. Approximately 60 coaches/scouts attend at least one day. (Sat.)

This showcase is good for the Senior who hasn't signed a NLI or the underclassmen who works out all year and is in shape in February.

I found that many of the coaches had a spot or two to fill on their upcomming Spring rosters.

My oppinion...if your not on the ski team, what do you have to lose.

Good Luck
Extraordinary bias towards New England Lightning and other AAU players to the exclusion of many, many more talented players. Thus, not getting chosen to participate is no longer considered any kind of negative commnent on a player's ability. Of course if you get in it's still a great place to be seen.

I'm not out of order! You're out of order! The whole freakin' system is out of order! You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't HANDLE the truth!
The top96 showcase is the best, by far in new england for the good/very good player. It is a select showcase but if you are good it is the place to be seen. Now there is a top 96 in connecticut and new york and other places.
I understand they are all over the country now.

I went to one in 1996 and 2001 with my sons and there were over 100 college coaches. It is selective however, not everyone gets chosen so some probably have hard feelings.
