The McKinney Lions bring their big boy pants on the road and beat Jesuit 9-7 in 10 innings last night to complete a sweep of the bush league Rangers. Pitchers Kilgo, Ahsam, Gannaway sing "Sweet Caroline" back to the home crowd in the end.
Highpockets - there is nothing bush league about the Jesuit Rangers. Show some class for once. You must not be accustomed to winning much. I have good friends whose kids play on your team. They have played with 5 Jesuit boys for years during the summer. I think those folks would strongly disagree with your characterization of Jesuit. I will resist responding to your knuckle headed comment about singing back to the Jesuit team at the end of the game other than to say I guess you must have left before the bottom of the 10th because it didn't look to me like anyone on Mckinney's team and in the stands could do much singing because you looked to me to be a little tight when Jesuit fought back to get two men on to tie the game with one out. If you are the parent of one of the pitchers that i know, your comment disappoints me, and you know where you can find me if you want to discuss it.
Just reporting what I know.

Congrats to all!
I know most of the group is north of the Brazos...
But, Cibolo Steele (28-5A) is making their first area finals trip after a 5-2, 2-4, 11-0 victory over San Antonio Brandeis.
The team is a solid group and has extremely deep line-up with the sticks.

Clubhouse man, thanks for those updates, congrats to LD Bell ove FM, that was huge. Would not want to play Bell next week. Regarding Coppell, I can't resist...they accepted their championship trophy in February when everyone in Coppell was telling them how great they are. What 6-7 D-I offers. Thats very sad. Talk about underachievers. It happened to them 4-5 years ago when they had 4 D-I players and lost to Grapevine in the first round. Those parents whined for months on this board. With their one-two pitchers this year for Coppell, there are absolutely no excuses. I bet they are rethinking the Don England fiasco. Ran him out of town...whose your scapegoat now Coppell???

McKinney the #4 seed - beat Jesuit the #1 seed in 2-games. What happened here? McKinney a strong #4, Jesuit weak #1, or playing beyond their season for the Lions?
Game 2 looked like a great one.
RD, Lions/Rangers played two very exciting games. Lots of lead changes and big plays made in big moments. Last night was an endurance battle. In the end, the team who made the least defensive mistakes won. Lions are pretty good up the middle and are getting quality starts on the mound. IMO, I think the strength of schedule in 10-5a better prepared the Lions for this moment. Maybe in 9-5a a team could coast a bit now and then. Not the case in 10
Yikes - what happened to Flower Mound? Wish I would have made the trip to see one of their games. Any insight?
They ran into a Focused 6-5A team...that wanted to keep playing....
That's why the games are played on the field and not on paper. Also to many parents telling the boys one thing and the coach telling them another. (Don't read into the hype, everyone is beatable).
Good Luck to all the teams that have advanced and to the teams that will advance after this weekends games are played.
