There sure seem to be a good number of very talented players trying to make their way to the BIGS, that will be a joy to watch and will have a positive impact for their respective team. I see no place for angry players that are in fact a Cancer to their team and to the game in general.
I am happy to see him go (hopefully for good)! It amazes me how some players get opportunity after opportunity, only to demonstrate offensive behavior to the Fans, Coaches and their Teammates.
What was it about him that moved him up the “food chain” but left other qualified players waiting for their opportunity?

Seems like a lot to put up with for a .277 career average.

Looks like another one may bite the dust too...

As far as Buster Posey, I think it is unfair to imply that he has bitten the dust. I don't beleive most of these young players are ready mentally for the big call up. I think that sometimes they push some too quickly, no matter where they are drafted, there's a lot to learn. Posey only has played only one full season in pro ball, due to late signing last year.

Because Bradley was sent home, son's college teammate got the call up in his place, a 2006 drafted player.

TPM,
I agree with you.
I don't have a subscription but looked at the BA headline.
What a joke! The Giants are in a pennant race. How can you put Posey into that situation.
Further, Benjie Molina, the starter, has already made comments about being threatened by the call up. He made it a big deal in the press and the G's needed to deal with that.
The Giants made it clear they did not intend to bring Posey up in Sept. They had to when Molina had a leg injury and then only had one catcher.
Posey went from A ball to AAA in one season.
He has been great in every press article I have read, including one yesterday about the G's top prospect, a teammate in High A ball, possibly spending 20 years in prison for killing someone.
That headline seems like BA went way overboard, in my view.
Again, I have not subscription because I just don't like the work BA does any longer. The blip supports my reasons.
BTW, does anyone see an irony in the Cubbies signing Milton and trading DeRosa and the season results for each? Does the GM deserve some grief?
I guess the Cards aren't complaining after getting DeRosa from Cleveland.
Hey!!! They Moved The Page! I was not referring to Buster Posey!!!

"Angel Villalona's poor 2009 season just became a whole lot less relevant. Once one of the top prospects in the Giants system, Villalona is now the primary suspect in the shooting death of a 25-year-old man in the Dominican Republic. Villalona turned himself in to police on Sunday and will appear in court today." From Baseball America 9/21/2009

Regarding Buster Posey they were very complimentary.

"The Giants rank 26th in the major league in scoring. They also have the game's best catching prospect in Posey, who hit .325/.416/.531 in his first full pro season, including a .375 average and five homers in Triple-A in August."

FF,

Guess that is why I don't get the subscription either anymore.Roll Eyes

The cubs really screwed up this year and the cardinal fans are enjoying it. Unfortunetly when things begin to go south for a team, players get frustrated and open their mouths more than they should.

Agree, the guy who should be taking the heat should be the GM, JMO.
I've always wondered who the Cubs were bidding against when they plunked down $10m/year for 3 years for Bradley. With his reputation, who on earth would have bid the price up that high? Sure, he behaved himself in his contract year, to get the dough. Just goes to show he CAN control himself when it suits him. I guess it won't suit him for another two years at this point.

To me, if you were desperate for a bat, you'd give this guy one year at a much lower rate and see if it worked out. But you don't want to get so much cash committed to him that you have to stick with him even when he starts poisoning the clubhouse. Right now, the Cubs have a big fat albatross on the payroll. Just to get rid of him they'll have to eat a lot of his salary for two years.
