Big Timers

Thats a heck of a question. In my opinion this is a question that should be posed in a Private message and not an open forum.

Why should it be a private topic, and to whom would you address it to if you've just started posting here?

Doug I don't disagree with you and maybe I stated it incorrectly. I somewhat prefer to question an organization as opposed to an individual. In my opinion that gets personal. I guess I like how the question was asked about the Panthers.

I see this is your first post. Welcome to the High School Baseball Web. Let me defend you and your question. I think it is a very legit question. Of course the RESPONSE you get from your question about the “Big Timers” may be a negative response and if so, that response might be more appropriate if sent to you as a “Private Message”. All this may be confusing at this point but I’m sure it will start to make sense in a short while. Thanks for your question and welcome.

I know several people who have first hand knowledge about the Big Timers. And all but one of them have decided to not return to the Big Timers! That should tell you everything you need to know. If you need to know more i will be happy to respond in a private message!

From what I hear they are a good organization.

FWIW, our experience with Bobby Strafice has been nothing except him doing everything possible to promote his players to the best of his ability. I too, wonder why someone is mentioned by name rather than by organization.

Personally I respect all people who are trying to help young players succeed.

I did not mean to offend anyone by using the guy's name. I just wanted info (good or bad)about this group. A PM would be fine (sorry, I'm new at some of this message board stuff).

For what it's worth, I've never heard anything about them either good or bad. If they are local to the DFW area, I do know that their teams do not play in BBI and I have never come across them in a tournament or AABC post-season play.

Tim Meadows left the orginization. He was in Houston coaching a team there the last time I saw him

I'd like to thank everyone for their input, especially the PMs. Suffice it to say we will not be joining this "organization"...now or ever.

To update, this group called a local player and asked if he was interested in playing for a Big 12 school (naming the school in the process). When the player responded positively, he was told that they were eating lunch with the head coach and they put him on the line. Despite the obvious recruiting violation that would be, the kid called his summer coach to tell him. Upon further investigation, the D-1 Head Coach was not at lunch, etc. -- it was a farce, just to sign a kid up with SSE/Big Timers/however the run their group.

Let the buyer beware here...these guys are 'out of bounds'.

So, they tried to "big-time" the kid? badda-bing!

Ever since PD hit 1000 posts, the schtick is almost too much to bear...
