Sounds like your son and your family are in the middle of it. Congratulations on having several offers! It is an exciting time!

The best advice I can offer was shared with me here several years ago and it served my son well...

Go where they love you! And the most important advice I ever received here is Enjoy the Ride!

Congratulations again to your son!

At the end of the day, he will have to earn his spot regardless of which school he attends.  A great performance (7 oppo HR's) may get him an offer and an opportunity but he will still need to back it up with consistent performance at practice and in games over the long haul.

When you described "best program" as one of the JUCO's, why is it best?  What school does he want most to attend?  Where does he realistically see himself fitting at that school?  What are the academic goals and how does that fit into "best program"?

Hitting 7 oppo's in BP or otherwise is truly remarkable, in fact unbelievable, and something I have never seen done at any level.  If there is a special circumstance (short porch, prevailing winds, etc.), you may want to include that in your comment.  Otherwise, I would think he would have a virtually unlimited opportunities pretty much anywhere.

Any baseball player who attends a 4 year college will need to sit out a year if he transfers to a D1, unless he didn't get any athletic money at the original 4 year school and wasn't recruited to the original 4 year school.  If he or you have had more than one phone call from a college or ever had an arranged off-campus contact, he is considered to have been recruited by that college. Based on the OP, it sounds like he would be considered recruited to either of the 2 D2 colleges he is considering, so a transfer to a D1 would involve sitting out a year.

You may want to ask the summer team coach if his situation conforms to 13.11.2.4 in the D2 manual.  If any players on the summer team live more than 100 miles away from the D2, strictly speaking he isn't permitted to coach the summer team.  If discovered, the primary risk is to the D2, but it might keep your son from being eligible at that D2.
