does anyone out there have info on the blue -gray classic at lowell. my son got an invitation to attend at school and I am not sure the validity or reputation of this event. says it is put on by baseball america and that 50-60 college coaches attend over two days. is this a good showcase or an opportunity for someone to make money? and if it is an invitation only event why does it cost 195.00. any info would be greatly appreciated.

They have been around awhile and the events I attended were run very well. When they say 50-60 coaches it may be true but you won't see that many at one time. I may be going to see 2 or 3 kids, as are most coaches or reps, and once i get a look I usually disappear (unless there is lunch - lol). All in all they are pretty good and as long as your son communicates with his target schools and gets them to see him then even if only 2 or 3 show up it may be worth it.
My 2012 son registered for this event (Fri. 6/24, 12-5PM). If any other hsbaseballweb'ers will be there, please let me know. Always nice to put a face with a name. Smile

BTW, search this website for Blue-Grey; lots of past posts. In the end, we figured no matter how many coaches are there, it's an inexpensive first event for this summer.

Son has emailed targeted school coaches that he'll be there. Fingers crossed.
