Altobelli has nine multi-hit games, including one three-hit game and one four-hit performance. He started out the season batting .643 (9-for-14) during his first six games played. He continued his hot bat batting over .400 through the halfway point of the season.

In addition, he leads the team with 11 infield base hits and with five bunt singles.

Altobelli is one of only seven sophomore catchers in the nation who have been named to the award watch list and is one of only four catchers in the Big 12 to land on the Bench Award watch list.
