Funny story--my 7 year old was crushed this morning when I told him that he had to get ready for school. He was certain that school was canceled for Halloween. He was also surprised that I had to go to work!

Happy Halloween to all my HSBBW friends! We already ran out of candy.... closed the door and shut off the lights! It is fun seeing the small ones.... my favorite was two twin boys about two years old dressed up as cows! 
About an hour into T or T and we have had 84 kids come by. The street in teeming with humanity. Our street is famous for Halloween. My nearly 18 year old is roaming the streets as Nacho Libre - he has the mask, a red cape, blue tights, and tiny red spandex undies. At the suggestion of his dad, he also added a "cup". In his words, "safety first!" I told him to stay away from the little kids and the police.
Okay...went thru 200 full sized candy bars, a couple of boxes of toothbrushes AND toothpaste (yes...hubby is a dentist! ) It just always AMAZES me that so many of the kids are just as excited to get the toothbrushes as they are to get the candy....seriously...what is wrong with them?!?!? 
Lafmom...you will appreciate my FAVORITE costume of the night.....TAYLOR HICKS! Complete with salt and pepper wig, crazy sports jacket and soul patrol paraphenalia! It was GREAT!

It's been 8 years since we had a little goblin at the door. We have the all the lights on ---- the straw bales with corn shocks and the big ole jack-o-lantern are lit up in the yard display. No takers. That is one of the nice things about living in the country.
We had a nice amount of the little cuties! The son, in college did not go T or T for the first time ever. Even senior year at 6'2" he went out. Figured since he was in an apartment he'd be the one giving out candy for the first time at his own place. Went out and bought bags and bags thinking there would be tons of kids hitting the apartment complex. Not one single knock! He was so disappointed - and now has tons of candy to consume!

I'm with Fungo. Except for a niece a few years ago, no T or T for the last dozen or so years.
A co-worker did tell me about a couple of cute little T or T who after getting their candy then said "super size it please". Kids!
