My son went to this camp last year during his sophomore year, and is invited back this year. Last year was the head coach's first year, so this year may be different.
The format was a typical format: skills assessment, some drills, then some games. The coach said they would generate written evaluations, but my son didn't get one. There were a lot of players there, so I wasn't surprised, and it wasn't a big deal to us anyway.
The head coach had a session with the parents about recruiting and seemed very open. He said what positions they were looking to fill for the upcoming year. Here's whatelse I remember: Being BC grades are very important. He indicated they tend to recruit from NE, some in the midwest, and Ca. Likes kids from the colder climates because they know how to get themselves ready to play in NE. Ca because of the excellent academic reputation of some of the high schools. I think he said they recruit a little in Fla, mostly the Jesuit high schools. Said recruiting in the Deep South doesn't produce many results as most players won't come to NE. Seemed to focus on the positions up the middle and convert them to other other positions, although I am sure there are many exceptions.
For my son it was a good experience as it exposed him to the process, and we live a couple of hours from Boston so it was easy to get there. I didn't take last year's invitation (or this year's) as an indication of interest. There were just too many players. However, my son enjoyed the experience.
