I just read the article about Brian Cain in Collegiate Baseball. We have a team in desperate need of some psych building. (visualization, confidence building methods, routines )If anyone has any articles by him or information /books they've picked up at conferences, I am in need. (I'd like to start sleeping again.) I actually had the priviledge of attending one of Brian Cain's seminars. A few of the programs in the area all pitched in and flew him down to speak. It was money well spent!

I'm not really sure what info you're looking for but I took pages upon pages of notes on just about everything he said (felt like college again). PM what ever you want to know.

One of the things that I think stuck with our players was his hitting and pitching routine. I'm not sure if you've looked on Youtube, but he's all over the place there.

Hope this helps a little!
Hi,

I am not familiar with Brian Cain, but, did pick up a great book for son... it is called Heads Up Baseball by Ken Ravizzi, I was able to pick it up at Borders.

I liked it because it asked the player to write things in the book and document how they feel when things are going well. Then it makes suggestions on what to do when they are struggling.

The book also goes into routines and methods that players can use to improve their focus during practice and game play.

Good ideas for coaches to incorporate into practice as well.

Hope this helps.
BaseballMom,

Cain is an under-study of Ravizzi, I think. I know they have very similar mental tactics as far as attitude and focus goes.

This stuff works! I'll tell you the kids that take the metal approach he teaches are much more successful than the boys that this it's silly. I've even put it to use when I'm losing it with the fungo, which happens more than I care to admit.
Hey - Thank you for the plug their Pitching Academy man!

Brian Cain does a great job -- can't go wrong there. He's passionate and highly committed.

Just as background, he read "Heads-Up Baseball" and was inspired to go study with Ken Ravizza out at Cal-State Fullerton.

Ken is a primary mentor and friend of mine, dating back to when we wrote Heads-Up Baseball together in '95.

He and Dorfman have been at it the longest.

Anything from Ravizza, Dorfman, or Cain is money well spent.
