The coach was Gary Joe Kinne.His son is GJ Who plays with Either DBAT or the Mustangs.From what i heard the parent was mad because the coaches son was the QB and the parent thought his son should be the starter.Lets all keep them in our prayers.

Change Up that just makes me sick to think it was because of that...............hope he is ok.

We have had topics about parents being way to involved in things but this crossed the line.Not only was the coach shot but the dad just screwed things up for his kid for the rest of his life.

I know a lot of people in the Canton area felt that Coach Kinne had used his position to promote his son over the upperclassmen at Canton High School. But what this dad did is hard to believe!! Just plain craziness!! Some parents will do crazy things when they believe that their kids are being mistreated

Unbelievable. I'm sure the parent's son is much better shape now after this act of stupidity.

Coach Kinne and his family is in my prayers.

I watched him as a standout linebacker for Baylor in the 80s.

Seems the guy has had some serious problems for a long time. A buddy of mine went to High School with the dude, and said he was messed up then.

They guy's kid got kicked out of all school related athletics yesterday and he snapped. Coach Kinne's the AD so I guess he blamed him. The dad has had numerous problems in the past and was banned from school property and all school related activities.

coach kinne is a great guy and GJ is a great athlete. Keep us up to date on his condition. I heard he was in surgery and they thought he would be okay.

Latest news is that the bullet cut through his liver and lodged in his back. He lost a lot of blood but doctors got the bleeding stopped. He is in ICU in critical condition. The next 48 hours will be touch and go, but he did acknowledge GJ (his son) when he entered the room by lifting his thumb.

Prayers are in order for this man and his family.
