I noticed that Brevard has named a new football coach and will be starting the football program up again next year. From what the website said, they will be going from NAIA to DII in all sports. The program has been very strong over the last few years, winning their conference several times. Does anyone know which conference they will play in?

Brevard College has contacted the NCAA and is now undergoing their first year as an "exploratory" member. It will take awhile for the process to be completed. After being an exporatory member, a College/University must then become a provisional member. Full membership for Brevard (and thus inclusion in an NCAA Div II conference) probably won't happen until 2010-2011 at the earliest.

Here is an extract of the membership report from the NCAA web site.

Are you sure about that?

I've heard of TRhit's and Dibble's Fun Fund basin but not the Permian Basin...I'd be concerned if I went there and I got caught doing something bad that it would end up on my 'Permian' record...we all know how terrible that would be!

Roll Eyes

The "Permian" Mass Extinction

- Permian Period (286-248 million years ago)

- Terrestrial faunal diversification occurred in the Permian. (TR and Dibble born. Debate still raging if were via cloning or does the evidence just support bi-polarism).

- 90-95% of marine species became extinct in the Permian (See definition: Seafood Buffet)

- Though this mass extinction was attributed in popular history to the actions of the Texas Rangers, it pre-dates that time, making the University of Texas at the Permian Basin, not Harvard, the oldest college in the Nation and possibly the oldest in the world.
Maybe if I challenge some of the good ole boys from the West of the state they will start coming in here and posting. How about this I will name an all East NC baseball team and say that it will beat down the all West NC baseball team. Think some of them will respond in here then? Getting the Eastern boys to come in here is out of the question because they wont come on any board and talk baseball. Only a couple me and Southern1. What do you think?
