The Atlanta Braves, the MLB and several other corporate sponsors are breaking ground today on a $2.4 million youth baseball complex in Atlanta that may help turn things around for urban youth in neighbothoods where baseball used to be king.

Brian Jordan, Mike Hampton, Chipper Jones and John Smoltz each pitched in $75,000 toward building the new fields. This was reported today in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Hopefully, this will spark a renewed interest in the game among kids in the inner city.
