The Black-Hawks opened the Commonwealth District playoffs with an impressive win last night against the visiting Indians 9-2. Andrew Tyree pitched a complete game and notched his fifth consecutive win while allowing only 4 hits.
Third baseman J.J. McDaniel hit a two-run homerun in the fourth inning and finished the night 3-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs scored. It was McDaniel's fifth homer of the season.
First baseman David Dilegge went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs while right fielder Gary Pisall went 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
In other Commonwealth District playoff action last night the North Stafford Wolverines defeated the Albemarle Patriots 4-3, the Riverbend Bears defeated the Massaponax Panthers 5-2, and the Mountain View Wildcats defeated the Colonial Forge Eagles 3-0.
Brooke Point will host Mountain View and North Stafford will host Riverbend in Tuesday's semifinal contests. Both games are scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
