After some long deliberations we have decided to end our run as an 18u travel baseball team. This has been one of the toughest decisions we have had to make after putting our heart and soul into it for the past 5 years. In those 5 years we have had 67 kids sign college scholarships, as well as 10 drafts and a record of 185-33. We are very proud of the kids we have had and hopefully people feel we ran our program with some character and integrity. Myself as well as Todd Poe have 6 and 7 year old boys who we would like to spend more time with as well as the rest of our families. I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been meeting some of you and coaching against some of the other coaches on the board. I'm sure I will still see some of you at tournaments if you make it down south. Thanks.

Walking away from coaching is a very, very hard thing to do. Even more so when the products of your efforts move onward and upward in constructive manners. I still miss it, but wouldn't trade it for a single minute of the time I spent with or watching my kids. All the pride and satisfaction you felt with your teams will be tenfold with your kids.

Great run, well done, and enjoy...it all goes so fast.
Congratulations on making a very tough, but I’m sure proper decision.

Your players consistently have spoken very highly of your efforts, and in the end, that is how we all should be judged. They loved and respected what you did for them.

You guys have our utmost respect. Coach Rooney has said on a number of occasions that he wished we would have hooked up earlier, as you and Todd, and the rest of the SI Bullets program are among the classiest (AND BEST!) travel baseball people he had met in his eighteen years in this thing.

Your kids always played hard, and played the game the right way. It was a reflection of leadership. And, you played with your guys.

Your run has been awesome, but what you’ve done in and around your program has been even better. You have been a model travel baseball program. Congrats!

And imagine how good the SI Bullets, version 2.0, will be in 10 years!
We (the Longshots) played against you in the summer a few times. One of the games your daughter, I believe, came over and talked with me and another player for a good 15 minutes while we were warming up. If it was not your daughter, it was one of the other coaches.

She could not stop talking about how great her dad was and everything he was involved in; scouting, coaching, etc. She knew and loved everything about her dad, and her love for baseball was pretty obvious too as she knew a LOT.

Whether or it was your daughter or a different coaches, I can see why you would want to call it quits for your family's sake. It was the right decision.

I was always worried when I knew I would be pitching against your team.
This is very, very sad news.

The Bullets were one of the classiest acts around. Their coaching selves comported themselves in a professional manner and their kids were always full of "Yes sirs" and "No sirs."

Page and Todd were two of the biggest helps as I searched for the best way to get the Outlaws off the ground and myself nor my kids could ever repay them.

It just won't be the same going into Carbondale this year knowing the Bullets won't be waiting.
Page, from the bottom of my heart THANKS! You've been good to a few of my boys and to all of the other kids. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Good luck now just being a Dad. I also had to make that decision. It's hard not being the coach. However, it's great being Dad! As always, if you ever need anything, let me know!

Thanks for all of the kind comments. We really appreciate them. As far as my son and Todd's son I'm not for sure about the Bullets 2018. My son will probably be doing 7-7's and Todds son will probably be doing UFC. You just have to know them, but they do both love baseball too. There will be a Bullets 16u team and a few younger teams out there but we will not be coaching them. Although I'm sure we will be involved somehow. JWeaver, that was Todd's daughter Tommie that you were talking with down here. She is a good kid and like you said is a daddies girl.
