I got some information about bullpen sessions and on it was notes about a 45 foot bullpen and information about a box for the throws?

What is a box? It is the four areas of the strike zone (up/in, down/in, up away, down away)?

Is the 45 foot bullpen on flat ground or is it off the mound with homeplate moved up?

Thanks for the help.

catchingcoach05...good question. we always worked a 45' bullpen as 1 of our 2 BP's between starts for location(BOX). It was on flat ground and mostly a mechanical workout with a purpose of location...80% FB and 20% CU all from the stretch. We worked alot on balance as well, that is why we worked from the stretch...the majority of HS and college ball is from the stretch. A good way to gain confidence and straighten out any issues with the release point and/or location. Be sure to throw at 70 % to ensure a good easy workout.

Good luck!
