of course it is B...but there is never a reason to select D...the rules of baseball, although poorly written and definatly poorly categorized are quite complete.....

there is a rule to cover all situations, if an umpire cares to read and study enough. It takes study and advanced materials...its not enough to read the applicable rule book alone...

we totally understood....certainly all of us umpires know it, yet, not everyone who reads this thread is an umpire and in a player/coach parent driven site...its best to be clear....

we dont want anyone going off with the wrong idea..
