of course it is B...but there is never a reason to select D...the rules of baseball, although poorly written and definatly poorly categorized are quite complete.....

there is a rule to cover all situations, if an umpire cares to read and study enough. It takes study and advanced materials...its not enough to read the applicable rule book alone...

BTW: "D" was written as a joke for all who belong to the AUA - **** Umpires Association.

we totally understood....certainly all of us umpires know it, yet, not everyone who reads this thread is an umpire and in a player/coach parent driven site...its best to be clear....

Why isn't C the answer, based on Rule 6.05(h)? 6.05(h) says, in part, a batter is out when "After hitting or bunting a fair ball, his bat hits the ball a second time in fair territory......"

The way the OP reads everyone is assuming the batter is still in the box. If that is true then it is a foul ball.
