Interesting choices by the coaches. My first impression was that VCU would be higher and JMU would be lower. JMU lost their two best hitters from last years team in Lowery and Herback. Those were some very big bats, and some big time leadership behind the plate and at SS.

Has GMU improved THAT much from a horror season to be middle of the pack??

ODU infielder Josh Wright was voted pre-season Player of the Year. Great kid that plays with all of his heart!
Ben Thomchick of ODU also made first team as a starting pitcher. ODU is returning many starters for last year, so keeping my fingers crossed they all stay healthy and we at least match last year at 2nd!!

Can't wait for games to start!

I would have thought VCU would have jumped to 1st or 2nd with all of the pitching they have it is surprising, I don't think any of those teams want the bulls eye on them but it seems JMU has done extermly well handling the number one ranking. JMU will have one of the fastest teams in the country so they may have lost some pop they will recover with speed but you can't steal 1st. It will be interesting go DUKES

Last year was a dis-appointment for VCU going 12-18 in conference, I thought they would do better than that.... But I agree with you, I think VCU will finish in the top three this year.

I like ODU too, seems like a lot of excitement in that program.

JMU lost a ton of offense....... and normally when I hear that "this years team will be different, we have a lot of speed" that means they can't hit!

Don't get after me, I'm not knocking your post at all, I just start grinnin' when I hear teams who have lost offense state they now have increased speed....

JMU = top three with VCU and ODU.
