Well respected academic school- last time I checked high GPA needed for admittance. Very popular college choice for CA kids.
Baseball program also well respected. Long time coach, Larry Lee, has had some success in the Big West League. New pitching coach- former CP player played in MLB (popular with players). Assistant coach, Teddy was a long time coach @ Santa Barbara City College.
Program has had several recent players be drafted or play in MiLB.
The players I know really liked/like playing there. Liked the coaches,,the school etc. Nice on-campus baseball facility with great community support. Small town atmosphere with lots of loyal local fans.

Great school and environment. Small college town life, can't really beat it from a college experience and education standpoint on the West Coast.

I agree with the others. . . it's a school with a great academic programs and Coach Lee is a good man and a good coach. IMHO, the strongest part of Coach Lee's program is in developing hitters, so it's a good place for position players.
Thank you all for the great info. This will make my 5 hour drive (each way) this weekend that much easier.
How did it go?
Not as well as I hoped.(no offer) They said some very good things to him though. Hopefully it will work out. He's a 2014 so we have a little time. Coaching staff and school seem top notch.
