Hello everybody,

I’m a “newbe” here and thought I’d share in this forum. My son signed a letter of intent as a catcher with Cal State Fullerton a few weeks back after the coaches paid us a visit at home. His best-recorded “pop” time is under 1.8 seconds and has a pretty good bat as well. He also was the quarterback for his football team and to tell you the truth, we all thought he’d be going to a PAC-10 school for football since they all were looking at him. All I can say is thank you Fullerton for this opportunity.

Uhhhh .... Bullwinkle .... did you mean rapid fans or rabid fans?

Dustin ... congrats. The name Dustin Garneau is pretty familiar to those of us from So Cal ... I do recall reading it several times over the course of the past couple of years. Fullerton is quite a program and a great opportunity and an honor to be selected for their program. Have fun and we locals will be looking for you.

Dustin Garneau came to our Academy and took some BP last week w/ another Titan and one of our former players, Billy Pinkerton. This was the first chance that I had to meet him and see him swing the bat. Granted it was just BP, but...WOW. Dustin is big and strong and can really swing it! He also was a great kid.

I told him that he is welcome to work out at our Academy ANY TIME. I will be following him closely now as though he was a player from our program. I wish him tremendous success at CSUF and beyond.

Level Swing,
I look forward to meeting you at the Titan Games this upcoming season.

Steve,

Yea, he’s a respectful kind person and a real gamer. He didn’t tell me he attended your academy but then getting anything out of these kids on what’s going on in their college life is like pulling teeth. Wait till you see him catch, not to sound like...well you know...but I have to say, his arm is a cannon.

For now I'm taking in the scrimmages and looking forward to the season opener at Stanford. We’ll for sure have to meet sometime at Goodwin Field. Does CSF allow tailgating in the parking lot? There is a lot for me to learn.

Level ...

Further to Steve's comment about the tailgating ... every home game and almost every away game, there is a very big tailgater going on in the parking lot, courtesy of several of the best boosters in college baseball. Someone has a large "commercial" type BBQ that is brought to all the games at Goodwin. And when the Titans are on the road, the BBQ'rs are there as well with their Fullerton flags flying high.

By the way, have you checked out the Titan baseball message board? Lots of good stuff. Here is the link (I am friends with several of the posters that I have met over the years ... a poster who calls himself MEMEME is the coordinator of the tailgates ...):

I look forward to watching Dustin play although it will be from the other side. My son is a pitcher for the Long Beach State Dirtbags so I'm sure they will be facing eachother at some point. Eek

And if you tailgate at Blair....will a certain Dirtbag Mom be invited to join you? Wink

Why of course you’re invited. See ya at the field Cool
