No Doubt they should be banned in College. I don't like them in high school either. They are dangerous for one. They also exaggerate offensive ability due to creating more bat speed, bigger sweet spot and bigger barrel. They also change the game in that the 1st & 3rd baseman usually play too deep and the OF is a few more steps back.

I'd rather see wood bats from 9th grade on. Keep it a skill and strategy game.

How about Tennis (or golf)- is the racket (or clubs) used by amateurs different than the pros?


i've said this about LL for years. they should do the 50/70 with leading and stealing.

i think the metal makers just have to much money/power to roll over. while this debate is decades old, it will be many more before the switch. to bad every player didn't just start using wood. i think thats about the only way to really get something rolling.
