Starting position player at a Top 10 California JC, wants to be realistic in level of program to transfer to.

Understands the talent level needed for the Pac-12, West Coast, Big West and CCAA.

How do other conferences compare, and would they be a realistic goal?

Wave,
You probably already know this but...

Most of the Calif. JC's have websites for their baseball program. Most list where each of the graduating soph's signed on (which 4 yr school they moved on to) on the home page or in the news section. If you were able to see many of your son's games, you can focus on the teams in his league and note where comparable players have gone. Also, from what I gather, many of the JC coaches have specific contacts/pipelines that they seem to feed into. There are usually patterns by school.
The majority of Calif. JC kids tend to migrate to Calif. D2 and NAIA schools. D1's and D3's are much more inclined to recruit players out of HS. And, because it is generally cheaper for a student (and the program) to attend college in his home state, that is the most common. There are certainly exceptions. Again, just check rosters for a school's history of taking Calif. JC transfers.
Didn't see this one until I presume its to late. However for future reference at the old spincstats site for CA JC's they have a list of college transfers that should give one a feel for where the kids go w/o having to look at the individual school web sites;http://spincostats.com/Communi...al/Professional.html

Tough to say where a player will end up w/o seeing him play, however on my son's under 500 CA JC team just about every starter played pro or D1 or D2.
