the camp at Stanford is, in effect, IMO a showcase type event. Nike also runs various camps in CA throughout the summer and most D-1 schools in the state (Loyola and UCSB come to mind as exceptions) run their own high school age camps throughout the summer and during the Xmas holiday season.
There is, of course, the Area Code games held each summer in Long Beach. There is also an organization I think called NorCal Baseball that holds events-I believe they have a website. Also try a website that is called either Southern California Baseball Resource or it may be Baseball Resource.com- it lists most California events.
What year are you/your son? Many of the camps/showcases may already be filled for this summer, but you have lots of time if you are not a "rising" senior. We were quite happy with the showcases put on by diamond kings (diamondkings.org, I think) in Fresno.
For the NorCal showcase that HeyBatter referred to, watch the website: www.norcalbaseball.org. I believe its run in August sometime. Never attended, but have heard it is well run and well attended by colleges.
There are some really good showcases put on by Perfect Game in Phoenix, Arizona. Since you asked about California I assume you live in CA. which is not too far away from Phoenix. I would recommend Perfect Game Western Underclass Showcase which is held in the fall. PG also did local {So. Cal} ID showcases last fall/winter.
Also my son is attending Diamond Kings showcase which is held in Lake Elsinore {near Riverside}.
