Camp Invite FROM Player?

My son received a camp invite from a good NAIA school a couple days ago. The invite however was from a current rostered player. Is this common practice in the NAIA? The email itself seemed pretty generic though. Any thoughts are appreciated.

We are probably going, but just curious as to why it came from a player. Seems like a great camp, campus tour, meet with admissions, lunch and dinner for a low price. Thank you.

Do you think it might be a case of where a player has used up his eligibility and taken a job as an assistant coach or GA? My freshman year in college we had a senior 2B who came back my sophomore year as an asst. coach. Maybe they haven't updated the website.

I would email the guy back and ask on what authority he has to make this invitation. Tell him that you just want to make sure you're not breaking any rules.

Should be a pretty easy fix.

I was thinking the same. He was a Soph in the 2011 season and it looks as though the roster is not updated.

Thanks for the responses. I was just curious and wanted to see if this was usual for NAIA.
