Hello i have heard that most of camp invites are mostly just money makers for the college, but when the university addresses your name in the email does it mean anything?
Is it a school you want to go to? If yes than the camp does not hurt.
If it is a local school and you want to go there I suggest you find a coach from that school who gives hitting lessons or pitching lessons or whatever lesson your player might need.
Having one on one time with a coach in the inner circle is really nice.
I do have to say, be realistic, before spending time and money make sure the academic fit is right and the performance level of the baseball team is in line with your sons level of performance.

If a letter is personalized, it will have a signature on it. Email is different, you can't necessarily tell.
Jemaz gave great advice if you are unsure. Just ask the coach. Email him back and ask if you received the email as part of a list or if the coach is interested in you as a recruit. it's a question no one will balk at answering.
